Public masturbation a persistent problem at Tisch Library

Though Deuerlein could not provide specifics, she said that the library would be increasing its safety measures in the future. "While I've been told that Tisch Library will be implementing additional security measures for student safety in the building, these plans were brought up before last week's events."

Currently, Tisch Library is open to the public and does not require students to show their Tufts IDs at the door. Deuerlein added that as far as she knows, "there is no plan for [this] to change."

This has been happening A LOT longer than the past 4 years. Once upon a time, there was a place at Tufts called the Nils Yngve Wessel library, and it infamously was the home of the WESSEL WACKER. Some things never change.

This is sick, and needs to stop. I think that students and facility need to show ID, because if they continue like this, problems like this will continue. I feel so sorry for the female students that were exposed to this. This shouldn't happen anywhere let alone a public place. I think Tufts NEEDS to change their ID policy, and it will prevent future incidents like this one to occur.

This is just nasty... What would he gain from it. maybe hes a little messed in the head. Feel bad for the girls. I guess if he did it while sitting next to me id laugh a lil cuz im a dude

absolutely. i agree with outraged. this is horrific and traumatic. this happened to me as a young girl (walking with my mother in a shopping center) and i will never forget it. IDs should be required of all those entering the library. administration should seriously consider changing this policy.

The only thing more gross than being a witness to this type of behavior is reading the insensitive comments that are below the article. Grow up, get a room - better yet, get a girlfriend, and do it in private.
