Senior Pub Night to run next semester

The Senior Class Council announced today that the administration has canceled any pub nights planned for this semester, but will allow two pub nights to run next semester. The future of Senior Pub Night remained in jeopardy after rowdy and inappropriate behavior at the September installment of the senior event suspended pub nights indefinitely. In an e-mail sent to seniors this morning, Senior Class Council said that they devised a new set of policies and procedures to be implemented at pub nights in the future, but there was not enough time to review these policies by the end of the semester, thus nixing hopes of holding a pub night this fall. Small stock of H1N1 vaccine expected by next week

Tufts' Health Service expects about 50 doses of H1N1 vaccine to arrive within the next week and will distribute them to students who are pregnant or have serious medical conditions. In an e-mail to the Tufts community early this morning, administrators stated that the university had yet to receive any of the vaccine and did not know when it will arrive or in what quantity. Director of Health Service Margaret Higham notified the community in an e-mail several hours later of the small shipment to arrive by next week. Health Service will give priority to students under 25 who are taking immunosuppressive medication or have an immune difficiency, students under 25 who do not have a spleen and those who have lung disease or diabetes. Tufts’ fees highest in Massachusetts

Tufts ranks as having the highest price tag in the state this year, according to a report Sunday in the Chronicle of Higher Education. The university’s tuition, fees and room and board, $51,088 in total, mark the highest of all higher education institutions in Massachusetts. The university’s charges represent a 3.5 percent increase from last year. “I hope that there's a good reason for the fact that we have the highest tuition,” junior Makiko Harris said. “It seems like there are other schools in Massachusetts that we could get a pretty comparable education at.
