The Tufts University Police Department sent this message to students in light of a recent break-in near campus: from: Announcements@tufts.edu to: announcements-medford@elist.tufts.edu date: Sun, Mar 29, 2009 at 5:33 PM subject: Security Notice On Friday, March 27th the Tufts University Department of Public Safety sent out a Safety Reminder in response to several reports of property crimes occurring on and around campus recently. On Saturday night a Breaking and Entering was reported at a campus residence. The following are the details of the incident along with reminders of how to help keep yourself and your property safe. Matt Aliabadi, the press contact for rapper Asher Roth, has confirmed yesterday's report that Roth will be performing at Spring Fling on April 25.
"Asher Roth will indeed be playing the Tufts Spring Fling concert," he wrote in an e-mail to the Daily.

Rapper Asher Roth may perform at Spring Fling

Rapper Asher Roth, whose college-themed songs have drawn stylistic comparisons to the music of Eminem, will perform alongside Ludacris and Tufts rock band The Gentlemen's Bet at Spring Fling this April 25, according to an unconfirmed Last.fm post. Roth, a college-aged Pennsylvania native, debuted his first professional release last year with "The Greenhouse Effect," which was distributed for free on his Web site, TheDailyKush.com. He has received significant press for his music, and is an up-and-coming force in the genre. If the posting is correct, Roth would make up the second of three main performers that will be selected to perform. In an e-mail this morning, University President Lawrence Bacow assured the community that Tufts remains financially stable in spite of an economic recession and volatile financial markets worldwide. Though the endowment has declined by a projected 30 percent, Bacow said, it is still much larger than it was less than a decade ago. Bacow emphasized that Tufts is putting students first, particularly when it comes ot financial aid budget decisions.
