These are last week's top 5 most-played albums on WMFO with commentary by music editor Joshua Zeidel. 1) "Back to Basics" by Christina Aguilera: For her third studio album, released in 2006, pop icon Christina Aguilera partnered up with famed hip-hop producer DJ Premier in the hopes of creating a more jazz and soul-influenced album. A two-disc release, the first CD features heavy beats and samples while the second was recorded live in order to sound more authentically like the '20s, '30s and '40s sound that Aguilera was looking for. 2) "The Dance of the Moon and the Sun" by Natural Snow Buildings: This French duo has created what many listeners regard as a masterpiece of the ambient drone - psychedelic folk - avant-garde genre.
