GG lust: Little Jenny's fashion debut
9/30/08 9:04 AM
*SPOILER ALERT* I watch Gossip Girl every week not just to see what Chuck is doing to win Blair back or whether Dan and Serena will get together - yet again - but to feast my eyes on the amazing array of costumes. Yes, Gossip Girl has filled in where Sex and the City so ruthlessly left me high and dry when it when off the air many moons ago. This week, the Upper East Side crew went to Fashion Week, and the result was fabulous. Did anyone else notice the Tinsley Mortimer and Michael Kors cameos? What everyone's going to be talking about today, of course, is the green dress that Serena wore down Eleanor Waldorf's runway. In my opinion, the dress is simply exquisite. The colour complements Blake Lively's hair and skin tone beautifully. The bodice fits her perfectly and accentuates...Seeing double: Pat Field for SATC vs. Pat Field for HSN

I'll admit upfront that I am an avid fashionista.com follower. One of my favourite features on this fabulous blog is "Adventures in Copyright," in which the interns review knock-offs of designer pieces. As such, I've decided that this blog would not be complete without my own adaptation of this concept: Seeing double. For the first installment, I present Patricia Field for the Home Shopping Network. I don't think it would be exaggerating to say that every item is a direct copy of something from the Sex and the City movie. And guess who styled the movie? Patricia Field, of course! Tacky, tacky, tacky. If you saw the movie, you definitely recognize this belt. On the left is PF's version, and on the right is Carrie wearing the real thing in...Want it now: Topshop's Lace Insert Tunic Top ($55)

When I first came across this dress on Topshop's newly launched US site, I went through the following mental checklist:
Affordable? Check.
Appropriate for class on Tuesday, Sagra Tuesday night, and running to work on Wednesday? Check.
On trend for fall? Check.
Machine washable? Check.
Adorably sweet while alluringly sexy? Check.
Unfortunately, I cannot justify buying yet another little black dress. If you can, buy this baby and watch me turn green with envy.

ANTM: Wanna be on... Nintendo DS?
9/29/08 7:02 PM
America's Next Top Model fans rejoice! Now's your chance to show Tyra that you can smile with your eyes, pull it all in for the couture shot and strut your stuff as well as Miss J. Eidos is coming out with an America's Next Top Model video game on Nov. 7 for Nintendo DS. So what will the virtual contest entail? Basically, it seems like you'll be doing your model's makeup, preparing her for challenges, walking the runway, doing shoots, etc. Don't forget to smile with your eyes! Personally, I don't think this game will be complete unless you have the options to "call housemate fat behind her back," "talk back to Tyra" or "flirt with Nigel." I also don't think that many ANTM fans even own a Nintendo DS, but this does fit with the current trend of creating...A fashion blog that fits...
