When I read that Payless Shoe Source is donating $1,000,000 worth of shoes to children in need for the holiday season, I was ecstatic. Especially with the state of the current economy, I think it’s great that this company is embarking on such a large philanthropic project. No doubt part of the reason they’re doing this is for the positive PR, so I’m going to help that along and highlight some great deals available at Payless right now, online or in store.

I recently made my first Payless purchase – a pair of white, Ked-like sneakers that only cost me $7.50 during the BOGO sale (don’t fret, they’re also available in black and cost a mere $14.99 at full price). I successfully dirtied them up at Zeta Psi’s white party this past weekend, and now they’re not only the cheapest pair of shoes in my collection, but my current favorite.

While Payless is a great resource for your faux-Cons, faux-Vans, faux-Uggs, faux-Skechers – you get the idea – the chain also carries some great trendy styles.

Examples:

Black patent leather oxford booties with a 4” heel, $24.99

Knee-high leather studded boots designed by Abaete, $55

Black patent heeled boots with a back zip and sleek, modern design by alice + olivia, $48

Adorable black and white saddle shoes that will look totally Gossip Girl with skirts and tights, $17.99

The metallic “Leighton” clutch named for a certain Gossip Girl actress, on sale for $9.99

Check out all of the above and more at payless.com or at the CambridgeSide mall location.
