Tufts' Office of Admissions is already operating under a need-blind admissions policy, but a lack of residual funds is preventing the department from finalizing the policy, according to administration officials. Another Fletcher prof. leaves to accept high position elsewhere

A well-known Fletcher School professor and former chief economist for the U.S. Department of Labor will leave after this semester to become the dean of Brandeis' Heller School for Social Policy and Management. Lisa Lynch will become the second Fletcher professor this academic year to plan to leave Tufts for an administrative job at a peer institution. (0) comments

President George Bush last month signed a budget bill for 2008 lowering the maximum Pell Grant and slashing spending on academic research. The new law allows for a maximum spending of only $4,241 per Pell Grant this year. But money allotted in September's College Cost Reduction and Access Act will up the maximum Pell Grant to $4,731. Influenza cases increasing on campus this winter

Health Service has witnessed an increase in cases of influenza this semester, according to Clinic Manager Kathleen O'Dea. According to O'Dea, it is hard to pinpoint reasons for the rise in influenza, more commonly known as the flu, due to the fact that it is an ever-changing virus. (0) comments

Relay for Life will hold its official kickoff in the Mayer Campus Center tonight, seeking to sign up participants for its walk-a-thon in March. Tonight's event will incorporate performances by student groups BlackOut, B.E.A.T.S and Zigi and the Bandit. Supported by the American Cancer Society (ACS), Relay for Life has been raising money for cancer patients for more than a decade, and it extends to more than 4,800 communities nationwide.
