The news that Dean of Arts & Sciences Robert Sternberg may leave his post after only three years on the Hill is sad indeed. In his short time here, Sternberg has not only effected valuable changes within the university but also made an effort to connect with the student body, making himself a known and approachable figure on the Hill. To the Editor: While I agree with many of the author's points on the scourge of extreme poverty and inequality of opportunity, an Op-Ed in Tuesday's paper ("The moral dilemma of the 21st century") implied a factual inaccuracy that deserves correction. Economics teaches us the difference between real income and nominal income. (0) comments

During a presentation this past week of the Agohozo Shalom Youth Village created in Rwanda for orphans of the genocide, Sipha Nsengimana emphasized that the term genocide has become a household word, used frequently and casually. She stressed that survivors of the 1994 genocide are still trying to live through the trauma and pain, coping with the knowledge that while their families were murdered before their eyes, the rest of the world looked on. Everyone's been asking the same two questions: What are you doing next year, and what was the best thing you did at Tufts? I don't have an answer to the first one; the second has too many potential answers. But what was the most unique and rewarding thing I was able to do at Tufts? That's an easier question.
