Tufts volleyball won the NESCAC championship last Sunday, defeating the Wesleyan Cardinals to clinch the title. Previously, the Jumbos had taken down Trinity and Williams in order to secure their shot to take down the top-seeded host, Wesleyan, in the finals. The Jumbos had a 21–5 regular season record and 9–1 record in conference. The team avenged its only conference loss of the regular season to Wesleyan on Sunday by beating them to claim the NESCAC title.

The Tufts volleyball team improved its overall record to 15–5 this weekend with wins over Babson College and Springfield and a loss to MIT. The Jumbos started their weekend on Friday night with senior night at home against Springfield. On Saturday, they played in the New England Challenge at New England College where they played their second two opponents. None of these matches were conference games, so the Jumbos’ in-conference record was unaffected.
This Homecoming weekend, women’s volleyball picked up a 2–1 record after defeating NESCAC opponents Colby and Bates and losing an out-of-conference game to Hope College. On Friday, the Jumbos conquered Colby in a tight 3–2 set match, when they came back from a two-set deficit early on. On Saturday, the team had a commanding 3–0 set win over Bates and suffered a close 3–2 set loss to Hope later that day.
Two-sport star athlete Mac Bredahl graduates this spring after leaving his mark on the Tufts athletics world. Bredahl, a senior from Chatham, New Jersey, is an attacker and captain of the Tufts men’s lacrosse team as well as a top player for the Tufts golf team in the fall. Despite his seasons as a Jumbo being cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Bredahl has made the most of every second on the field.
Tufts men’s lacrosse added another NESCAC win to their record after beating Trinity College 21–10 on Saturday, March 26. However, Tufts suffered its first loss of the season on March 29 in a home matchup against seventh-ranked Union College with a 17–12 final game score. Tufts also lost to Middlebury on Saturday, April 2, 21–14. The Jumbos’ record now sits at 6–2 overall and 3–1 in conference play.
The Tufts men’s lacrosse team had a commanding start to the season on Saturday in its first game and home opener with a 27–7 win over Colby. Tufts brought the intensity in the first quarter against a Colby team that looked defeated in warmups. The game was an opportunity for a lot of young players to see their first minutes on Bello Field and have a positive contribution to the outcome of the game. While the underclassmen played a significant role, the upperclassmen and veteran players controlled the game in every facet. The Jumbos made a statement to start their 2022 campaign playing against the Colby Mules
This past weekend, Tufts men’s basketball took on Trinity and Connecticut College, ultimately coming out on top with two NESCAC wins. On Friday, the team defeated the Trinity Bantams 61–38 and on Saturday, they beat the Connecticut College Camels 67–50. Their record now stands at 10–9 overall and 5–2 in conference play.
The Tufts’ track and field team extended its winning season on Friday, Jan. 21, when the team placed first out of seven teams at the Lyons Invitational at Wheaton College. The Jumbo men racked up 165 points, crushing their opponents while the women scored 172.5 points, defeating their closest competition by nearly 80 points.
