300-bed dorm is the only choice

Students need to demand a new 300-bed dormitory, and refuse to settle for anything less. As a sophomore, I stare into a rather bleak housing future. I applaud the hard work of Jesse Levey, Alethea Pieters, Tommy Calvert, and Adam Carlis for being the light at the end of the dismal housing tunnel. Rents are skyrocketing and available beds for juniors are always in question. My personal housing plans are further frustrated by the RA application process. I have no way of gauging whether I need off-campus housing as the process drags on and on. By March, when the process is over, off-campus housing will be virtually exhausted. I should not be punished for my interest in becoming more involved in the Tufts Community. The 300-bed dorm, proposed by the contingent named above, will provide would-be juniors like myself with real housing options. Sophomores have been groomed far too long to expect the worst for junior housing. In a college world all too accustomed to flux, campus housing should be settled once and for all with a 300-bed dormitory.
