From the Editor-in-Chief | The Daily is daily again

Keeping your eyes trained on the professor at the front of the room just got that much more difficult: From here on out this semester, the Daily will be printing a fresh issue each day of classes.

You may have noticed that we have been putting out papers every other class day for the first two weeks of the semester, in accordance with Daily precedent. Now those two weeks are up, and we'll be squirreled away in the Curtis Hall basement for the duration, bringing you the Daily on the daily.

Today also marks the debut of this semester's columns. From now on, every issue will feature new content from an array of columnists, each sharing his or her own distinct perspectives and pet vexations. We've got a lingual archaeologist who exposes the hidden histories behind words we've learned but never truly understood, a frustrated pallbearer for the degenerating music industry and a man who's hopelessly buried in the high estrogen levels of his Bromfield Road abode. We're mixing in new voices like these while bringing back some of our beloved old-timers: To name a few, Managing Editor David Heck's novel blend of New Yorker, philosophy major and sports geek has resurfaced for his fourth semester of "The Sauce;" Jessie Borkan returns to turn our lopsided frowns into lopsided smiles with more addicting anecdotes of awkward encounters; and Caryn Horowitz is back to keep you up to date on the latest tips on how to improve your culinary craft.

As the semester kicks into high gear, rest assured that your paper will be there every day, crossword and all — and if your vice needs that extra fix, you can find a different daily crossword at TuftsDaily.com, a site that we're growing increasingly fond of as we add more and more videos, slideshows and interactive features. Now it's back to the basement — I'll see you all again sometime next semester, my eyes all raccoony and glazed-over from these halogen lights.

Sincerely,

Giovanni Russonello
