Sign Stealer
At 7:55 a.m. on Oct. 3, an incident of possible vandalism at a residence on West Adams St. was reported to the Tufts University Police Department (TUPD). The owner of the residence stated that a “No Trespassing” sign and a “Keep Off Fence” sign had been removed during the night by an unknown male whom the resident believed to be a Tufts student. The resident noted that a video recorded by his home video surveillance shows an apparently intoxicated male collide with the fence. The person then removed both of the missing signs before leaving. The resident further explained that there was an ongoing issue between him and Tufts students who were living in the same neighborhood. TUPD is unsure of whether the vandal was a Tufts student.
Roomless for the Night
Outside Carmichael Hall at 2:00 a.m. on Oct. 4, a person not affiliated with Tufts approached a TUPD officer and asked whether he could be let into a room in Carmichael Hall. He explained that he was staying with his girlfriend. After being told by the officer that he could not enter someone’s room without the resident’s permission, he stated that his girlfriend was intoxicated and passed out in the room. After learning this, officers entered the room and the student was transported to Lawrence Memorial Hospital. The boyfriend was not allowed to stay in the room.
Crowded House
A loud party on College Ave. was reported to TUPD at 1:40 a.m. on Oct. 5. TUPD officers, upon arriving, saw 12 to 15 people on the house’s front porch. Inside the house, more people were discovered, as well as a bar and loud music. The party was quickly shut down and about 75 people in total were removed.
Public Indecency
At 2:00 a.m. officers observed someone on the President’s Lawn. Upon closer investigation, the person was seen to be urinating on the lawn. TUPD officers then told the miscreant to leave and recorded his identification information.
