Volleyball | Jumbos pierce Lancers, cast gaze to Cardinals

After a smooth straight-set victory over the Worcester State Lancers last night, the volleyball team heads to Wesleyan tomorrow night for a match that will help determine whether the Jumbos earn the right to the NESCAC Tournament. With the 25-14, 25-13, 25-15 thrashing, the Jumbos improved to 25-2 overall on the season.

When the New Orleans Saints and the San Diego Chargers take the field at Wembley Stadium in London on Sunday during a relatively uneventful week in the NFL, the headlines should have surrounded the invasion of American football onto the Queen's soil. Instead, the Saints were imbedded in controversy, as three failed drug tests marred an otherwise stellar week for the team.

Four-most: Field hockey team moves up to No. 4 in rankings ahead of Halloween showdown with one of nation's other top teams

Following its dramatic overtime win over Trinity Saturday afternoon, the 13-0 field hockey team jumped to No. 4 in the latest National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) national poll, released yesterday. Tufts picked up as many first-place votes (eight) as NESCAC rival and defending national champion Bowdoin, which reclaimed the No. 1 spot in the poll after spending one week at No. 2.

NBA | New-school NBA centers matriculate tonight

After a five-month wait, Zydrunas Ilgauskas and Kendrick Perkins are set to tip things off in a rematch of last May's epic seven-game Eastern Conference Finals as the Boston Celtics and Cleveland Cavaliers, two of the best teams in the East, take the floor at the TD Banknorth Garden at 8 p.m. tonight.

Men's Rugby | Ruckus on the pitch: Jumbos wrestle win

With all of the success of the varsity teams this fall season, it can be extremely easy to overlook one of the most exciting and thriving squads on the Hill. The Tufts University Rugby Football Club (TURFC) finished up its best season in four years on Sunday, falling to defending national champion Plymouth State 24-10, but not before securing the East Conference Championship of the New England Rugby Football Union.
