A crime behind Curtis Hall

Early Monday morning, two Tufts students were robbed at the rear of Curtis Hall. The incident, during which the two students were robbed of cash, cigarettes and a backpack, took place at approximately 12 a.m.

The students described the suspects as African-American males dressed in black hooded sweatshirts and black jeans.

According to the students, the suspects appeared to be between their late teens and early twenties. One suspect showed what appeared to be a handgun during the incident.

The Tufts University Police Department (TUPD) and Office of Public Safety were not available for comment at press time. The Dean of Students' Office declined to release the names of the students involved.

According to Tufts' 2005 Public Safety Brochure, there were three robberies in 2004 on Tufts' Medford campus. Two were reported to TUPD; one was reported to a local police department.

TUPD asks that anyone with additional information about the incident contact them at x73030 or 617-627-3030.
