A break-and-enter at Brown and Brew

A safe was stolen from Brown and Brew after the campus coffeeshop was broken into this past weekend.

According to an e-mail sent Tuesday afternoon by Brown and Brew Student Manager Seamus Riley to Brown and Brew student supervisors, a second safe was also broken into.

General Manager of Retail Dining Operations Mike Myers was at Brown and Brew at one in the early morning today. The student supervisor present at the time was Paula Fortner.

"We're not going to be able to deposit the money here," Fortner said. "We're going to deposit it at the campus center instead."

Myers facilitated a police escort for Fortner so she could deposit the money made that day in the campus center.

"Many changes will come about in the coming months as a result of this robbery," Riley's e-mail said. "These might include a permanent night manager, security alarm system, etc."

The e-mail said that no one was harmed in the robbery.

"In order to aid in the investigation the police would like to have the names, social security numbers, and permanent addresses of all B&B supervisors," the e-mail said.
