Sarabande, Tufts' repertory dance ensemble, presents its spring show, "Dancin' Fools" at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday in Cohen Auditorium. The two-hour performance, produced by juniors Jessica Mattos and Brie Graber, is choreographed by student members of the collective.
When asked what some of the highlights of "Dancin' Fools" will be, Sarabande director of external affairs Lisa Charest says of the show: "You will definitely want to watch for...the debut piece from freshman Cassie Wallace."
The group's president, senior Kaitlin Toner points to a "high-energy jazz piece by [sophomore] Maggie Brunner with a cops-and-robbers theme [and] a clever cowboy-themed ballet piece by [sophomore] Kathryn Maus based on 'Balanchine's Western Symphony.'"
Charest adds, "Sarabande also shows an open dance in addition to all of our members-only pieces. Anyone can join the open dance, and it's always a lot of fun and will have a lot of energy onstage. This semester, the open dance was choreographed by [juniors] Megan Duane and Erin Young to 'Are You Gonna Be My Girl' by Jet...
"All of the dances in the show have their own individual appeal, and there are a number of different styles being performed," said Charest.
"Dancin' Fools" tickets are $5 at the Cohen box office, and doors open at 7:30 p.m.
