We're as excited as the next intoxicated Tufts student to pass out on the President's Lawn this weekend, but we feel a little fenced in by all the restrictions they've placed on us (and by the wooden fences): no bags, no drinks that aren't beer, etc. We just want to have fun! We're giving a heads-up to the security guards: Here are 10 things we'll be sneaking into the spring festivities on Saturday.
Chairs (or a pull-out couch)Dirt's great and all, but we'd prefer to watch the show from the vantage point of a real seat. We're pretty sure no one will notice the fold-up chairs tucked into our shirts.
Risk, or some other time-consuming board gameWe know that Concert Board has tried to reassure us that set changes will be quick (and soundtracked by the Hold Steady), but we have a feeling there will be some downtime. There's no better way to make friends than taking over Australia together.
Barbecue spit/bonfireFire looked like so much fun at Woodstock '99!
Another bandNot that we don't love Tufts' one famous band, but we heard Wilco and the Flaming Lips also play concerts of this nature. And how cool would it be to see our Jumbo mascot on stage with the Flaming Lips' costumed animal pals?
Guster T-shirtWe've heard it's really cool to wear the shirt you bought at the concert. Oh wait - the OPPOSITE of that!
Pee bucketYeah, there will be porta-potties, but sometimes you just don't want to wait in line.
A crate full of snakesAnd Samuel L. Jackson to declare, "I want these motherf-king snakes off this motherf-king President's Lawn!"KittenFor more on the Arts section's obsession with kittens, see last week's top ten. How cute would a kitten be in the middle of messy, drunken, uncontrollable college students?
LitterWe've heard that Guster are big on reducing, reusing and recycling, and we resent them thinking they can tell us what to do. We would throw the plastic rings from our regulation six-pack of beer on the ground if we weren't worried that our new kitty friend would get stuck in it.
AutumnThat'll put a stop to those springtime revelers!
