In Saturday's 5-0 blowout of the Bowdoin Polar Bears, Botwinick was one of the leading forces behind the Jumbo offense, scoring once and adding two assists to propel the Tufts offense to a much-needed league win.
While the two offenses were silent throughout most of the first half, it was Botwinick who got the Jumbos moving. With 1:45 left in the first half, Botwinick found senior forward Mattia Chason with an open lane to the goal, and Chason broke the scoreless tie to put Tufts up 1-0 going into halftime. It was Botwinick's second assist of the season.
When the Jumbo offense exploded in the second half, widening the lead from 1-0 to 5-0, Botwinick was again driving the Tufts offense. He again found Chason in the 68th minute, extending the lead to 3-0 by finding the senior with a beautifully crossed pass for another goal, and Botwinick's third assist of the year. In the final minutes, Botwinick rubbed salt in the Polar Bears' wounds, scoring his second goal of the season and finishing off the 5-0 final score.
