The Minuteman Bikeway

What is it? The Minuteman Bikeway is an 11-mile long, flat, asphalt-paved path (with mile markers) that starts in Cambridge and continues through Arlington, Lexington, and Bedford.

What can I do there? Walk, bike, jog, in-line skate, cross-country ski...just about any activity you can think of, as long as it doesn't involve a motorized vehicle.

When is it open?5:00 am ­- 9:00 pm, all year long.

How do I get there?Take the red line to the Alewife T stop. The Minuteman Bikeway connects to Alewife station.

Other important info:* Most of the street crossings along the trail are accessible for people with disabilities.* There are a number of places to stop for refreshments and toilets along the trail.* The trail is not plowed in the winter.

Fun Fact:The Minuteman bikeway passes through the area where the American Revolution began in 1775.
