Men's tennis takes down Beavers in rare fall home appearance

In its first fall season home match in years, Tufts handily defeated Babson 7-2, finishing out its fall dual meet schedule with a 2-0 record. The loss dropped Babson to 1-2 on the season.

In the most memorable match of the day, senior tri-captain Corey Keller and Babson's junior Jeremy Stein played a back-and-forth match at No. 1 singles. Keller relied on his forehand to establish an early and convincing 7-5, 4-1 lead, but Stein ultimately won the second set 7-5, grabbing one of two victories for his team after he defeated Keller 10-6 in the super tiebreaker.

In other singles matches, senior Craig Kunkes recorded a victory at No. 2 as he beat Beaver freshman Alex Kamerogosky in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4. Sophomore Vinh Tran and freshman Jon Trott both followed-up stellar performances in doubles to notch victories at Nos. 3 and 4, respectively. Tran out-dueled his opponent 6-2, 6-3, and Trott recorded a 6-0, 6-3 win in similar fashion. Freshman Andrew Rosen and senior Geoff Loh both contained their Beaver counter-parts, and posted wins in the No.5 and No.6 slots.

The freshman combination of Trott and Bryan Wilner led the way in doubles matches, out-playing Babson's duo of juniors Ben Ediek and Jason Lynn for an 8-4 victory at No. 2. Kunkes and Tran continued the trend with an 8-5 victory of their own at No. 3. Keller and Loh dropped their match 8-4 in the No. 1 spot.
