Police Blotter

Sept. 2612:22 a.m. A larceny was reported from the gym. A student left his or her wallet in a locker that was unlocked. When the student returned, someone had stolen his or her ID, credit card, and $60 cash.

Sept. 2811:09 p.m. Police found a student urinating on the sidewalk in front of 127 Powder House Blvd. The student was identified, and the report was sent to the Dean of Student Affairs Office.

Sept. 291:30-2 a.m. A student reported that her car was vandalized on Whitfield Ave. The driver's side mirror was ripped off, and the passenger's side window was broken.

2:32 a.m. A student at 37 Sawyer Ave was hanging from the light in the lobby. The light and part of the ceiling came down. The student was not injured.

10:25 a.m. A female student came in to the police station and reported that she was driving on Powderhouse Blvd. towards the rotary behind three white males, all around the age of 30, wearing business suits. The males made lewd gestures to her in the back window. Right before they got to the rotary, they came to a complete stop. The student stopped behind them, and two of the men got out of the car, one with a baseball bat. The two men then got back in the car and drove away. Tufts University Police Department (TUPD) officers and Somerville Police Department (SPD) officers searched the area but didn't find anyone.

7:09 p.m. TUPD went to Tilton Hall after receiving a report of a beer pong tournament. They found several open and empty beer cans upon arrival. Five students were identified, and the report was handed over to the Dean's office.

Sept. 309:35 a.m. TUPD received a report of a loud party at Wilson House. Upon arriving at the scene, they found seven males drinking. The males had three Budweiser beer balls (balls of beer tapped like kegs). The beer balls were confiscated and disposed of, and a report was submitted to the Dean's office.

4:02 p.m. TUPD arrived at Dewick-MacPhie Dining Hall after receiving a report of a food fight there. They identified one person as being involved. That individual was given a mop and a broom to clean up.

9:10 p.m. Police were called to the courtyard behind Lewis Hall where they found students smoking marijuana. They also found a small bag containing some marijuana within 25 feet of the group. One of the students claimed ownership of the bag, which was confiscated. The case is being turned over to the Dean's office.

Oct. 12:04 a.m. After officers saw students leaving 123 Packard Ave. with cups of alcohol, they entered the building and shut down the party.

2:11 a.m. A student and his friend were spotted by police on Curtis Ave. carrying a 30-pack of beer. They tried to hide the beer in the bushes. There were about four or five cans missing. The beer was confiscated and a report sent to the Dean's office.

4:10 a.m. A Domino's Pizza delivery man reported that while he was waiting on the corner of Latin Way and Packard Ave., someone came up and kicked the car, leaving a dent. The individual then ran towards the academic quad. The police searched the area but did not find the person. -Sarah Butrymowicz
