Officers walk in on beirut game

Tufts University Police Department (TUPD) officers responded to a call about a noise violation in Latin Way on Saturday, Oct. 7, at 3:31 a.m. When the officers arrived, they could see three or four males through the window in one of the towers.

The males were yelling, screaming and swearing out the window. The officers also found broken beer bottles on the ground, which appeared to have been thrown from the window.

When the officers went upstairs, they found a beirut game that was set up and several empty thirty packs of beer. There were also broken bottles in the hallway and stairwell. A report was filed and turned over to the Dean of Student Affairs Office.

Officers walk in on (another) beirut game

Officers responded to a call at Wilson House on Sunday, Oct. 8, at 1:21 a.m. A Resident Assistant had asked individuals in a room to be quiet around 10:30 p.m., and when they were still loud at around 1:00 a.m. she called the police.

When they arrived, they found several males and females in one room, which was "a total mess," according to TUPD Sergeant Robert McCarthy. There was a beirut game set up. There were also many empty beer cans and bottles, as well as an empty vodka bottle.

Some of the ceiling tiles were broken. The individuals also had three taps used for kegs. The taps were confiscated, along with an open 24-pack of Bud Light, which only had about 10 beers left in it. The case was turned over to the Dean's office.

Police brought in to assist comatose student

TUPD received a call on a report of a male passed out in the men's bathroom on the third floor of Houston Hall at 1:18 a.m. on Sunday, Oct 8.

When the police arrived, they found a male leaving the area, who was, according to a Resident Assistant, the subject of the initial call.

Tufts Emergency Medical Service (TEMS) was called, and the man offered service, but he signed a waiver and refused medical treatment.

Student reports harassment by suitemates

On Friday, Oct. 6, the police received a report from a female student that her suitemates were harassing her.

The student said that they were making excessive noise and knocking on her door. She had called about this issue in the past, McCarthy said.

Officers spoke to the suitemates that were present, and they were warned to stay away in the future. The report was turned over to the Dean's office.
