Illegal brownies turned over to TUPD

Officers responded to the Delta Upsilon Fraternity house's fire alarm at 114 Professors Row, at 6:49 a.m. on Nov. 18. They discovered that someone had tampered with the fire alarm. It was hanging from the ceiling with plastic placed around it to prevent it from detecting smoke.

Officers also noticed various plastic bags around the room, some of which contained a leafy, green substance. The student who resides in the room was asked to turn over all illegal paraphernalia. He produced several bags with the green, leafy substance in them, a glass pipe, and a pan of brownies.

Upon further investigation, officers found an additional bag containing marijuana in a trash bag outside of the room along with five yellow pills that were later identified as Ritalin. All of the materials were confiscated and destroyed.

Hungry? Why wait?

Someone vandalized a vending machine in Haskell Hall on Nov. 17 between 1:37 a.m. and 1:48 a.m. The individual broke into the vending machine and opened the box where all of the money is kept.

It appears that he or she took most of the money and only about ten dollars was left behind, according to Sergeant Robert McCarthy of TUPD.

Most of the food products in the machine were taken as well.

Officers heard loud noise coming from the Start House at 2:33 a.m. on Nov. 18. They went inside to investigate and found 15 to 25 people, many of whom were yelling loudly.

In one of the rooms in the house, officers found several bottles of alcohol in plain view. Outside of the room in a closet area which was open, officers found even more alcohol. They confiscated all of it.

The room's residents were both under 21. They were identified and the case has been turned over to the Dean of Student Affairs Office.
