Tufts University Police Department officers arrested an individual on Wednesday night after she allegedly stole credit cards from two Tufts students.
Between Nov. 27 and Dec. 2, the students reported their credit cards stolen from the women's basketball team locker room.
TUPD Officer Kerri Dervishian led an investigation to track down the thief. She used credit card receipts and surveillance tapes of the stores where the cards were used to track down suspects, TUPD Sergeant Robert McCarthy said.
Police arrested one individual for credit card fraud, but withheld her name because the investigation is ongoing.
She "used the credit card to illegally purchase items over $250," McCarthy said. Police also levied several other charges against the individual, including two additional counts of credit card fraud and three charges of forgery of a document.
The same individual was arrested earlier this year at Cousens Gym when she tried to go through a student's belongings in the locker room, McCarthy said. She was placed under arrest as a result of a default warrant and was also found to be in possession of class E drugs.
"The investigation is still ongoing. [We] are looking at other suspects also," he said.
