Students react to Roe v. Wade on decision's 35th anniversary

Voices for Choice (VOX) commemorated the 35th anniversary of Roe v. Wade on Tuesday by displaying 100 wire hangers on the Tisch Library patio. Meanwhile, Jumbos for Life protested the monumental Supreme Court decision with a flag exhibition on the Academic Quad.

Drummers from B.E.A.T.S., Tufts' percussion ensemble, pounded out a rhythm during yesterday's club fair in the Mayer Campus Center. Dozens of clubs tabled for the fair, seeking to raise awareness for their causes and garner new members.

Men's Squash | Jumbo men overcome St. Lawrence

Twice last semester, the men's squash team found itself on the wrong end of close matches, dropping a 6-3 decision to Bowdoin on Dec. 1 and a 5-4 contest to Amherst just five days later. But in a battle of nationally-ranked squads this past weekend, the Jumbos finally broke through.

Club Skiing | Jumbos second out of 10 schools

Just two weekends into the season, the men's ski team has already shown the potential to have a big winter. This past weekend, the Jumbos raced giant slalom (GS) against 10 other schools and took home second-place finishes on both Saturday and Sunday.

Active citizenship necessary to a liberal arts education

Recent debates at Tufts have raised the important question of what role education for active citizenship plays in a liberal arts education. Webster's dictionary defines "integral" as "necessary for completeness, essential." With this in mind, then, I argue in favor of education for active citizenship as indeed integral to a liberal arts education.
