Health Service tightens COVID-19 testing procedure

There have been rumors about security concerns with the independent testing procedure, hence the switch to the new method. However, medical director Marie Caggiano assuredly explained that this is not the case; the switch is just part of the Health Service’s responsibility to make sure all testing is accurate.

Joe Biden wins presidency

After four days of counting, Pennsylvania delivered the final votes necessary for Biden to secure the presidency in the electoral college, winning 290 to 214 over Trump, with 40 votes yet to be allocated, according to the Associated Press as of Saturday.

Tufts announces 10 p.m. COVID-19 curfew

The university is instructing students to be in their residence halls or off-campus residences between the hours of 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. unless they are in the library, an art studio or lab, working or seeking medical care.

Former 'Spotlight' reporter Stephen Kurkjian talks free press, election

Stephen Kurkjian, a Pulitzer prize-winning journalist and founding member of the investigative “Spotlight” team of the Boston Globe, spoke to the Tufts community on Oct. 29 in an event entitled “Free Press: Enemy of the People or Democracy's Lifeblood." It was co-sponsored by Tufts’ Osher Lifelong Learning Institute and the Jonathan M. Tisch College of Civic Life.

Mail Services works to ensure ballots reach students ahead of election

The collaboration between Mail Services, JumboVote and Tisch College came into effect in the spring after issues with election-related mail. Many students living in Houston and Miller halls, which underwent renovations that changed how residents receive mail, had not been notified by Mail Services that their ballots had arrived.

Tufts to allow practice of singing, wind instruments in Mods

Mods E and F are the only spaces on campus where singing or playing wind or brass instruments is allowed for students pursuing music degrees. This is a revision to a previous policy, which detailed that no singing or wind and brass instrument playing is allowed on campus or off campus this fall.
