In Photos: Women’s lacrosse faces off against Connecticut College

The Tufts women’s lacrosse team beat Connecticut College 18–7 on Saturday on Bello Field. It was full steam ahead for No. 2 Tufts, who followed up on Saturday’s season-opening victory with two more wins over Roger Williams on Sunday and Endicott on Wednesday. In Photos: Copenhagen on wheels

Cycle alongside the many bicycles of Copenhagen, Denmark, in the latest dispatch from Daily photographers studying abroad. Copenhagen is one of the most bicycle-friendly cities in the world, with more than five times as many bikes as cars. Rain, shine or snow, Copenhagen residents cycle about 1.45 million kilometers every weekday on an extensive network of bike lanes and cycle superhighways.

In Photos: Men’s basketball beats Bates

In a thrilling end to the regular season, Tufts men’s basketball came back from a 10-point deficit to beat Bates in overtime, 83–75, on Saturday in Cousens Gym. The team also honored graduating Jumbos on Senior Day. In the NESCAC tournament, the No. 3 seed Tufts will host No. 6-seeded Williams at home on Saturday at 2 p.m. Read the Daily's full recap here.

Valentine’s Day came early to Tufts for the track and field Cupid Challenge on Feb. 7 and 8 in the Gantcher Center. Tufts’ Arielle Chechile placed second in the indoor pentathlon on Feb. 7. On Feb. 8, in field events, Lexi King won in high jump, Sarah Firth won in pole vault, Jordan Andrew placed first in long jump and second in triple jump, Elysse Cumberland placed first in triple jump and second in long jump, Mia Kurtz took third in shot put and Jackie Wells got second in the weight throw.

In Photos: Strong finish for Tufts squash

Tufts squash ended the regular season with dominant wins at home over Colby on Sunday, capping off a successful weekend. The No. 11 women’s squash team swept their matches 9–0 while the No. 12 men’s squash team earned a 7–2 victory over the Mules. Sunday’s results followed on the heels of Senior Day victories for both teams over Bowdoin on Saturday, as well as wins over Bates on Friday night. In Photos: Weekend wins for women’s basketball

During their last home weekend of the regular season, women’s basketball notched two wins, besting Wesleyan 76–42 on Friday and Trinity 68–59 on Saturday to improve to a 14–6 record. The game against the Bantams was also Senior Day for the four Jumbo seniors, Sofia Gonzalez, Annika Decker, Caitlyn O'Boyle and Mikayla Paquette. Look back on the action in Cousens Gym. In Photos: ‘Where Do We Go From Here?’

Students, faculty and members of the greater Medford/Somerville community gathered in Cohen Auditorium for Tufts University’s annual Martin Luther King Jr. celebration on Thursday. Titled “Where Do We Go From Here?” after King’s 1967 speech, the event featured speakers, including University President Sunil Kumar, as well as poetry, song and dance of both contemporary and traditional varieties. In addition, sophomore Sonia Broni received the 2025 MLK Student Voices Award winner. To cap off the night, two Tufts professors led a a traditional Ghanaian drum performance that ended in a procession to the nearby Alumnae Hall for a dinner reception.

On Sunday evening, Tufts received the largest snowfall of the winter yet, with several inches piling up in just a few hours. Throughout the evening, dozens of students layered up and braved the cold to build snowmen, sled down the slopes of Tufts’ hilly campus and throw snowballs at each other for hours.
