0-41   Converted goals off penalty-corner chances scored by the field hockey team during the NESCAC semifinals and finals this weekend. The Jumbos failed to capitalize on these opportunities during 149 minutes of play. While eking out a 1-0 win in OT against Trinity, Tufts' failure on offense contributed decisively to its 1-0 loss in the title game at the hands of Bowdoin Sunday on Bello Field.

NHL | Goalie woes strike league, Bruins' Fernandez might be answer

Goaltending wins hockey games. It's often as simple as that, but not every team can have a Roberto Luongo in net. For the rest of the league, goaltending is a shakier proposition. Some teams have their own institutions, like the New Jersey Devils' Martin Brodeur or the New York Rangers' Henrik Lundquist.

Amherst, Williams take men's and women's NESCAC soccer titles

The Amherst Lord Jeffs pulled out the upset over the hosting Panthers to take the men's crown while the Ephs successfully defended their home turf to win the women's title.

Gideon Jacobs | Baseball, Football and Poop Jokes

Talking about sports and politics in the same breath is crazy. Sports, as I've been told so many times, is just a game. When you hit a home run, you aren't changing the world. When a team plays for its playoff "life," no one is actually in danger. When your team loses, it hurts, but the pain isn't the kind of pain that changes you.

Women's Soccer Wrap Up | Promising season ends prematurely as Jumbos battle injuries

It was a year filled with adversity for the women's soccer team. A season that started out with great expectations — including hopes of reaching the NCAA Tournament for the second straight season — but was derailed by injuries came to an end Sunday, when the Jumbos fell 4-2 on penalty kicks to Bowdoin after playing to a 0-0 stalemate in a dismal first round of the NESCAC Tournament.
