Ice Hockey | Jumbos pick up tie, win, score eight goals in opening weekend

If the ice hockey team performs in all of its games like it did in its first two, it will not be surprising to see the team back in the playoffs come February. And while the Jumbos were not perfect in their opening weekend - settling for a tie against Trinity before capturing a major conference win against Wesleyan - their offensive power and commanding play are promising signs for the future.

Men's Basketball | Jumbos looking to meet big expectations this year

When talking about their goals for the upcoming season, most teams say they would like to "pick up where they left off." In the case of the men's basketball team, they would like to pick up from the middle of last season, before they lost their last 4 games, including an upset loss to Bates in the first round of the NESCAC tournament.

The women's swimming and diving team had a successful season last year, with a third?placeNESCAC finish and an impressive depth of talent. But this year, that depth will be put to the test, as upperclassmen and a large freshman class fill the spots of both last year's strong senior class and those swimmers who are abroad or injured.

Field Hockey | Jumbos head to Final Four for first time since 2009

The No. 10 field hockey team wrote a new chapter in its history this weekend. On Sunday afternoon, the Jumbos finally scored revenge for years of heartbreaking losses to conference rival and national No. 6 Bowdoin, coming from behind to beat the Polar Bears 2?1 and advance to next weekend's NCAA semifinals.

Men's Soccer | Tufts downed in NCAA tournament opener against Vassar

A historic Tufts men's soccer season came to an end in devastating fashion on Saturday in the first round of the NCAA Div. III tournament. Under the lights and on the turf at Brandeis University's Gordon Field, the Jumbos dominated the Vassar College Brewers for all 90 minutes of regulation but were unable to score a goal, leaving the door open for Vassar to steal the win with an overtime golden goal off of a penalty kick in the second minute of the second overtime.
