While the women's soccer team fell to Wheaton in yesterday afternoon's action, two other Jumbo teams saw mixed results later last night.
The volleyball team emerged from a back-and-forth match against Endicott with the win, three games to two. The Jumbos split the first four games - winning 30-20, losing 18-30, winning 30-17 and dropping the fourth in a 28-30 nail-biter - before blowing the Gulls away in the fifth and final game, 15-7.
Freshman hitter Caitlin Updike led the way offensively for the Jumbos, pacing the team with 15 kills, while senior captain Katie Wysham and sophomore Brogie Helgeson added nine apiece. On the defensive side, junior Natalie Goldstein joined in the effort with 20 digs.
The men's soccer team fell to MIT in its second game of the season at Bello Field last night, remaining winless at 0-1-1.
After a scoreless first half, the Jumbos got on the board first, as senior tri-captain Greg O'Connell opened a 1-0 Tufts lead less than 10 minutes into the first half. Unfortunately for the Jumbos however, the Engineers countered with two unanswered goals: one from freshman Christian Therkelsen and the second from junior Andrew Bishara.
