The Jumbos are fresh off a 4-0 dominating win over Gordon last night and are sitting pretty at a second-place 3-1 in the league, but still have something to prove. A victory tomorrow would give them the NESCAC chip that, with wins Williams last October and Middlebury on Sept. 15, has continued to elude the rising program.
Field hockey has the toughest draw on Homecoming Saturday: Bowdoin (8-0, 5-0 NESCAC) is the No. 1 team in the nation in this week's poll. The Polar Bears have faced some tougher games in their past three, emerging with a trio of 1-0 wins, but pack a powerful punch on offense and a defense that has yet to yield a goal this season.

The Jumbos are currently 2-0, but have faced two of the NESCAC's weakest opponents in Hamilton and Bates. They boast two of the league's top eight rushers in senior Chris Guild and junior Brad Ricketson, and as a team, they rank third in both points scored and points allowed.
The Polar Bears come to Medford at 1-1 dragging the baggage of a humiliating loss to Amherst in which they were outrushed to the tune of 331 yards to 23. Their Week 1 win over Williams turned heads, however, as the Polar Bears knocked off the defending NEACAC champions, 28-14.

The Jumbos have won six straight after escaping from Brandeis with a 4-3 win on Wednesday. They put their perfect 4-0 conference record on the line against the Polar Bears this weekend, looking to stay in their dead heat with Williams for first place in the NESCAC.
The Polar Bears are 6-2 overall and are coming off two consecutive wins. They beat NESCAC champion Middlebury on Sept. 30 and followed that up with a win over Husson Wednesday. They rank second in the NESCAC with 2.57 goals per game.

After starting the season 0-5, the Jumbos are looking for an October run. Their win over Plymouth State this week was their second straight and junior David McKeon has now recorded back-to-back shutouts as the team has outscored its past two opponents 6-0.
Bowdoin is 5-2 this season, but may be looking to return serve on the 5-0 loss they suffered to the Jumbos last season. They've had a week to rest up following their 3-0 loss to Amherst last weekend, as they look to improve on their 2-2 NESCAC record.
