Head coaches who have resigned or been fired in Div. I football already. The season is not over yet, and no bowl games have been played. In fact, Arkansas coach Houston Nutt resigned Monday only to take the vacant Ole Miss job yesterday. And so the carousel begins.
1.000
Free throw percentage for Tufts point guard Colleen Hart. The freshman is a perfect 20-for-20 from the line this season and has helped the women's basketball team to a perfect 4-0 start on the season.
4
Members of the Philadelphia Flyers who have been suspended this season for controversial hits. The latest is winger Scott Hartnell, who will miss two games for checking Boston Bruins defenseman Andrew Alberts into the boards Monday night. So much for the City of Brotherly Love, huh?
$25,000
Game check for Kansas City Chiefs offensive lineman Kyle Turley, who will donate the entire sum to help retired NFL players. Turley is one of a number of players who will donate portions of their checks from Dec. 23's games to help ex-players.
4.25
Goals per game given up by the Tufts hockey team this season. The Jumbos are last in the NESCAC in the category, but have made up for their lackluster defense by averaging three goals per game on the other end.
3
Teams in the NBA who have yet to lose a game at home this season. They are: the defending champion San Antonio Spurs, the Eastern Conference-leading Boston Celtics, and... the Milwaukee Bucks. Yeah, the Bucks are leading the Central Division. We're shocked too.
