Sophomore Emma Mayerson went a step too far while celebrating the Red Sox's World Series win, according to the Boston Police Department (BPD).
Mayerson was arrested in Boston in the wee hours of Monday morning for allegedly banging on the hood of a Mercedes as the driver attempted to navigate through the riotous crowd. She then allegedly climbed onto the car while it was still moving.
She was arraigned later in the day on Monday and released without bail.
"She was released on her own recognizance," Suffolk District Attorney's Office spokesperson Erika Gully-Santiago (LA '02) told the Daily.
Mayerson's pretrial hearing will be scheduled for December, according to Gully-Santiago said.
"The pretrial hearing is an opportunity for both sides to work out scheduling," she said.
At the arraignment Mayerson entered a not-guilty plea. Last night she declined a request from the Daily to comment.
Mayerson was one of around 37 people arrested in the hours immediately following Boston's victory. According to the Boston Globe, police made 21 more arrests on Tuesday during a Red Sox parade.
