Just steps away from Bromfield-Pearson and Anderson Halls, 12 Dearborn Road offers students unstaffed housing that is about the closest experience to living off campus during sophomore year. A small residence, Dearborn offers four doubles and seven singles, plus a full kitchen. Pistell said that although she had a low lottery number, it was surprisingly easy to get a room in Dearborn. "I had a bad number, so I brought down everybody's average," she said. "But I don't think a lot of people know about Dearborn."

According to Pistell, Dearborn has provided a welcome change from the standard dorm experience. "It's definitely different from the dorm experience I had freshman year ... It's an actual house, and you're not in a hallway with 500 people," Pistell said. "It's more independent." Pistell added that for her, the main appeal of Dearborn is "living in an actual house and not a dorm building, having a place to call home."
