It was Federer's first loss to an American in 41 matches and a remarkable upset from Fish, who fell in the finals the following day to Serbian world No. 3 Novak Djokovic.

Fall in rankings of the men's lacrosse team, from fifth nationally as of the March 17 USILA Coaches' poll to No. 16 as of March 24. The Jumbos lost to then-No. 8 Wesleyan and then-No. 18 Roanoake over spring break, giving up a combined 36 goals while notching only 12. Interestingly, all three teams suffered a downgrade, with Wesleyan now seeded 12th, while Roanoke fell from the rankings altogether.

Total wins of the women's basketball team this season, a school record. The Jumbos exhibited a truly breakout performance this season that was capped with a run to the NCAA Div. III Elite Eight, where Tufts' historic 26-4 season ended with a 55-49 loss to Messiah March 15.

Attendance at Major League Baseball's season opener yesterday in Tokyo, Japan between the Boston Red Sox and Oakland Athletics, the third such opening in the last nine years. Boston won 6-5 in 10 innings after a two-run double courtesy of left fielder Manny Ramirez in the top half of the 10th inning.

Total upsets based on seedings after the first two rounds of play in the Men's NCAA Tournament last weekend. The Midwest region proved most deadly for higher seeds, with five total upsets, followed by the West region with four. Both the East and the South remained relatively safe territory for the top dogs, with each region witnessing only one underdog victory apiece.
