The women's lacrosse team scored perhaps the biggest win in program history Saturday at Bello Field, toppling national powerhouse Middlebury 15-7 in the regular-season finale. A look inside the numbers:
15
Number of saves recorded by Tufts freshman goaltender Sara Bloom, a career high. Bloom's effort helped limit a Middlebury offense that entered the game averaging over 15 goals per game to just seven scores.
26
Number of years between Saturday afternoon and Tufts' last victory over Middlebury. Since the inception of the NESCAC Tournament in 2001, the Jumbos had never come within seven goals of the Panthers.
76
The length of Middlebury's NESCAC winning streak, which dated back to April 8, 2000, when the Panthers lost to Amherst. The Panthers were undefeated since the NESCAC Tournament's inception in 2001.
7
Number of goals Middlebury scored in the game, the fewest its offense has tallied this season. The last NESCAC team to hold the Panthers to fewer than 10 goals was the Bowdoin Polar Bears on May 1, 2004.
