From the office of the Tufts Daily

Dear Ace of Base,

Apparently, every year there is a rumor that your lovely musical stylings will be gracing Tufts students for Spring Fling, but yet again, Tufts will be disappointed with the lack of follow through. While it makes zero sense for you to come to Tufts for our April concert since you will be touring throughout Europe for most of 2008, we were hoping you could fly in and make a special stop at Tufts amidst the melee of Eastern European music festivals you have planned for this year.

Even though you haven't released a new album since "Da Capo" in 2002, which none of us have heard, Tufts students are still incredibly supportive of your mid-'90s chart-toppers such as "The Sign" and "All That She Wants." Whoever doesn't admit to belting out the ever-so-intelligent lyrics, "I saw the sign/ And it opened up my eyes/ I saw the sign" in the shower is either a pathological liar or was born after 1995.

So, while we're crying over the lack of Ace of Base in our lives, we will push on to Spring Fling with or without you. We're sure that this time next year, the majority of Tufts students' hopes will once again be dashed to pieces when we discover that you've decided to tour Australia instead of dropping by dear ol' Tufts. All we can say now is don't turn around, 'coz you're gonna see our hearts breaking once again, having to lower ourselves to a band that is nowhere close to the quality of music from Ace of Base.

Until next year,

The Daily arts department
