"Task Force on Freedom of Expression Open Meeting"

Details: The Task Force on Freedom of Expression, commissioned in January by President Lawrence Bacow, is currently drawing up a university-wide policy on how much freedom of expression members of the Tufts community have. This open forum will serve as an opportunity for students and other community members to voice their opinions on the task force's decicision. Everyone in the Tufts community is invited.

"Edward R. Murrow Forum on Issues in Journalism"

Details: Former NBC News anchor Tom Brokaw will moderate this year's Murrow Forum. The theme will be "Noise vs. News: The State of Political Coverage," and panelists will include New York Times Magazine political reporter Matt Bai (A '90), Peggy Noonan, a columnist for the Wall Street Journal, and Eric Fehrnstrom, who served as the senior communications advisor to former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney. Seating will be limited. The event will continue with a conference Tuesday in commemoration of Edward Murrow's 100th birthday.

Details: To conclude the "Day of Silence," lesbian activist, artist and frequent Oprah Winfrey Show guest Staceyann Chin will speak about her youth in a homophobic Jamaican society.
