DAILY DIGITS

13 The Tufts career record for touchdown receptions, now held by senior wideout David Halas, who passed John Troy (LA, '00) and Rich Giacchetti (LA, '70) following his 124-yard, three-touchdown performance against Bowdoin on Saturday. Sitting with five touchdowns and five games to go, Halas could easily break the single season mark of six set by Mike Gorham in 1972 and classmate Steve Black in 2007.

2 Shots allowed by the field hockey team against Amherst during the Jumbos 4-0 win on the road Saturday. To put that in perspective, Tufts recorded as many assists in the game, while four individual players fired at least that many shots. The Jumbos totaled 19 shots in the contest, and through eight games, the team has now taken over 200 shots more than their opponents.

15 The number of consecutive matches that the women's volleyball team won to start the season before falling to Union at the Tufts Invitational on Saturday. Before this year, their best start ever was 10-0. The accomplishment is even more impressive when juxtaposed with last season, when the team started off 0-4 without winning a set in any of its first four matches.

62 The number of postseason games that the members of the Rays played in before this year. Take out Chad Bradford (17 games), Dan Wheeler (13) and Cliff Floyd (12), and that leaves 20 games of October experience among the remaining 23 players on the Tampa Bay's active roster. The seventh-youngest team in baseball, the Rays' average age is 27.5, whereas the roster of ALCS opponent Boston checks in at 30.3 years.

0 The number of turnovers surrendered by the Washington Redskins on offense this year. After tossing 11 interceptions in 13 games last year, quarterback Jason Campbell is enjoying a breakout campaign this season, compiling a 96.7 QB rating and tallying 6 touchdowns without any picks. On the ground, the Redskins have not handed it off to seven players this season without coughing up a fumble either.

269 The number of all purpose yards totaled by Reggie Bush against Minnesota on Monday night, including 71-yard and 64-yard punt returns for touchdowns. Bush ran the ball 12 times for 29 yards, while also catching a team-high seven passes for 64 yards. Unfortunately, Bush's efforts were for naught, as the Saints fell 30-27 to the Gus Frerotte-led Vikings and dropped to 2-3 on the season.
