Theater Preview | Sitcom structure keeps 'Alarm Clock' audiences from snoozing

The Department of Drama and Dance's latest production transforms Balch Arena Theater into Studio B, where a new episode of a television series is being filmed. Instead of passive theater-goers, audience members become part of a live studio audience that is encouraged to interact with the show's two hosts, laugh, clap and even take part in the performance itself.

Top 10 | Future Basketball Hall of Fame inductees

The Basketball Hall of Fame's Class of 2008 boasts several deserving members, including Patrick Ewing, Hakeem Olajuwon and Pat Riley. But somehow, someway, Dick Vitale will be entering the Hall right alongside them. While Vitale went 34-60 in his one-plus years coaching the Detroit Pistons in the late '70s early '80s, his varied one-liners and ability to use the word "baby" over 20 times in one minute apparently swayed the voters.

Candidates present platforms for Class of 2011 Senate seats

Candidates for the Class of 2011 Tufts Community Union (TCU) Senate seats gathered last night in the Sophia Gordon Hall multi-purpose room to present their platforms and views on select topics. The event was monitored by TCU Elections Commission (ECOM) members junior Anjali Nirmalan, junior Nick Horelik and sophomore Hunter Kopald.

Senate resolution calls for student input on task force

The Tufts Community Union (TCU) Senate unanimously passed a resolution Sunday night calling on University President Lawrence Bacow to "delay any policy decisions" in relation to the Task Force on Freedom of Expression until students have a satisfactory chance to contribute to the group's recommendations.

Men's Track and Field | Jumbos continue strong start, win at Stonehill

The men's track and field team continued to impress over the weekend, capturing first place at the Skyhawk Invitational at Stonehill College. Coming off of an indoor season in which the team took first at the NESCAC Championships, the Jumbos have now kicked off the outdoor season with second- and first-place showings.

Pop the Tufts Bubble

Tufts constantly trumpets its connection with its surroundings - be it Medford, Somerville or Boston. Tour guides always go on about the famous library roof view, the 15-minute T ride to Park Street and the particular emphasis the university and many students place on Tufts' connection with Boston. This all sounds very exciting and thrilling, but the reality is that only a fraction of the Tufts community actually takes advantage of these off-campus connections and opportunities.
