Greeks have values

As a member of the Greek community at Tufts, I was outraged when I read "Questioning the Greeks" in the Daily on Wednesday. There are many reasons this editorial was incorrect in judging the Tufts Greek system, but it was most blatantly wrong in making blanket statements about a community that is comprised of individual members, not just the stereotypes that represent them.

Gossip Girls' is, like, so phony

With a T.V. generation characterized by "Dawson's Creek," "Laguna Beach" and "The O.C.," the unnecessary melodrama that the CW's newest fall premiere presented in its first episode Wednesday night is nothing new. "Gossip Girl" displays the lives of New York's teen socialites in such a way that one is relieved to return to a life of normalcy after an hour of uninspired, clich?©d mess.

Timeline: Tufts' LGBT history

Tufts Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender (LGBT) Center celebrates its 15th anniversary this year. The center, established in 1992, has played a large role in the increasing status and acceptance of LGBT students at Tufts since then. In this timeline, the Daily looks at the growth of the LGBT community's role over the past 35 years.

Tufts drops one spot in U.S. News and World Report

As the Hill welcomes one of its most qualified freshmen classes, students are watching Tufts undergo renovations galore. With Hodgdon, Sophia Gordon, and Hotung among the many sites on campus that have been recently built or renewed, Tufts clearly has improvement on its horizons.

Men's Cross Country | Jumbos hoping Grafton course pays dividends

Although the beginning of the cross country season serves as a mere tune-up for the championship schedule, tomorrow's meet - the sole home race of the season - will certainly be a matter of pride for the Jumbos, who have annually taken the title since the 2003 season.

Library roof set to undergo renovations

Students will soon have a new and improved area from which to view the Boston skyline. Construction will begin this summer on the Tisch Library roof, with the tentative goal of being completed by the beginning of the next academic year.

CORRECTIONS

The Sept. 19 article, "New Greek life director may enforce strict BYOB policy," stated that Tufts is not responsible for enforcing BYOB policies. But a university document entitled, "Relationship Statement between Tufts University and its Social Fraternities and Sororities" prohibits the open distribution of alcohol by the Greek system.
