Before condemning the scalpers

Fall Ball seemed like business as usual at Tufts: People were unhappy with the ticketing process while hospitalizations crept toward a mass−casualty incident. Some of the problems students and faculty have with the implementation of this year's event do need to be fixed. Some, like the bottleneck, were a temporary inconvenience which need not concern coordinators in the future. Others, like the ticketing system and our collective inability (or refusal) to drink responsibly, need a good deal of work. Scalping tickets, however, is an issue on which I think most of the voices in our community are completely off base.

The Sept. 6 article "Tufts launches Trunk to replace Blackboard" incorrectly stated that the Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy will replace its current system, Angel, and use Trunk instead, in the spring of 2012. The Friedman School will in fact replace its current system in the fall of 2012.The Sept. 8 article "Fall Ball tickets sell out quickly with new online ticketing system" incorrectly stated that Programming Board will continue to use the same online ticketing system as used for Fall Ball for the Senior Pub Nights that occur during Senior Week. Programming Board will in fact use the online ticketing system exclusively for the four Senior Pub Nights that do not occur during Senior Week.In the Sept. 8 op?ed "When the world's problems bring you down, help your community," it was mistakenly written that all three writers - Shonak Patel, Nathan Rothstein and Andrew Varley - all graduated from Tufts. In fact, Varley was the only Tufts graduate.

Tufts theater groups organize performance-packed semester

Money never sleeps, and apparently, neither do Tufts' actors and actresses. Though the drama season kicked off during orientation, more events will follow during the Parents Weekend Arts Festival from Oct. 28 to 30. Over that weekend, students and their parents can enjoy a variety of music and dance performances and will also have the opportunity to catch sneak peeks from the Department of Drama and Dance's production of "Oedipus and Antigone," 3Ps' production of "Next Fall" and Torn Ticket II's production of "Merrily We Roll Along."  The excitement also continues later in the semester.
