Primary Colors: Where’s Biden?

As the United States enters a new phase of this global pandemic, the Democratic Party needs a leader. Even though Joe Biden became the presumptive nominee for president last week, he seems to be missing from the conversation. Instead of looking to Biden’srecreation room satellite callsas the party’s foil to Trump’s daily briefings, somevoters seem to bepaying more attention to Governor Andrew Cuomo. So, what can Biden do to regain his upper hand?

HillSide Story: Keep it positive

The world has gone off the rails, and so have we. This week we are switching it up and discussing a filmed musical theatre production instead of a traditional movie musical. Omigod you guys, it’s a free recording of a musical and it’s “Legally Blonde” (2007). Now, the story of Elle Woods can be quite misleading. A fashion merchandising major and sorority president decides in her senior spring that, after her boyfriend breaks up with her, she will just get into Harvard Law School. And the admissions officers will let her in because love is just that strong. While we love that the message is about a strong woman finding her voice and proving her ability to be an independent force of nature, the idea that love can get you into Harvard Law is just not how real life works, and it is important that everyone understands that. Anyway, we would like to thank MTV for blessing us with a recording of this musical that is never taken off YouTube. It makes the world a better place.

Keeping Up with the 617: The effect of Chris Sale's injury

Amid the suspension of the MLB due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Chris Sale underwent Tommy John surgery on his throwing elbow and is slated to miss the remainder of the season. Since the Red Sox blew up the offseason by trading Mookie Betts and David Price to the Dodgers, this current season seemed like a re-tooling year. Sale, who missed a portion of last season due to elbow soreness, seemed to suffer a minor setback in spring training.
