Sailing | Jumbos improve performance, finish sixth at team race

The coed sailing team traveled to New London, Conn., this weekend to compete in the Hap Moore Team Race Regatta. The U.S. Coast Guard Academy hosted the regatta on the Thames River, which saw great sailing conditions throughout the weekend. In a highly competitive field, the coed team came in sixth of 12 while local rival Boston College — the No. 1-ranked team in the nation — placed first overall.

Inside the NHL | Devils, Sabres lag behind despite big additions

Perhaps this year's biggest offseason news to both casual and diehard NHL fans was the re-signing of New Jersey Devils star Ilya Kovalchuk. The first attempt from the Devils, a deal for $102 million over 17 years, was nixed by the NHL for violating the league's contract rules. Eventually, the Devils completed a contract for $100 million over 15 years that the league approved.

Women's Cross Country | Women's cross country claims sixth at ECACs race Saturday

With the top seven runners resting up for the Regional meet next weekend, the next seven women's cross country team members got the opportunity to race at the Eastern Conference Athletic College (ECAC) Championship race this past Saturday at Colt State Park. The Jumbos made the most of the opportunity and showed off the solid depth of the squad.

Sailing | Tufts to head to Atlantic Coast Championships

The No. 17 Tufts' women's sailing team raced to a sixth−place finish this past weekend at the Victorian Coffee Urn Regatta hosted by Conn. College, qualifying the Jumbos for a place in the Women's Atlantic Coast Championships (ACCs), hosted in St. Petersburg, Fla., in two weeks.
