In an over four-hour-long meeting on Sunday, the Tufts Community Union Senate heard from Reverend Elyse Nelson Winger, the university chaplain, about a new institutional fund for religious holiday celebrations. The Senate also approved a resolution establishing a new community senator seat for religious and philosophical student organizations and passed sweeping changes to the Treasury Procedures Manual.
The Tufts Community Union Senate held its reelections for the fall semester this past weekend, with voting running from April 9 to April 11. A total of 904 students, or 13.1% of the student body, voted in the election, similar to the fall semester, which saw a participation rate of 13%.
The Tufts Community Union Senate met on Sunday to discuss recent and upcoming events, recap its Dining Survey initiative and hear the final Allocations Board requests of the semester, including an appeal for funding from the Tufts Solar Vehicle Project.

At the Tufts Community Union Senate meeting on Sunday, members discussed the tuition transparency town hall, upcoming outreach initiatives and expanding relations with members of the Tufts administration.
Tufts Community Union Senate has implemented a survey form to allow students to rate meals and provide feedback in both the Fresh at Carmichael and Dewick-MacPhie Dining Centers. The program is running from Jan. 26 to Feb. 6 and aims to increase student input in dining experiences.
On Jan. 19, the Tufts Community Union Senate met for its first meeting of the spring semester, in which it held internal elections for Parliamentarian and Diversity Officer, presented data from the TCU Senate Student Experience Survey, and voted on proposed changes to the Treasury Procedures Manual.
