Senate politicians have been pushing to pass a national security bill that funds aid to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan, but political gridlock in the House of Representatives is preventing it from passing swiftly. House Speaker Mike Johnson declared the bill “dead on arrival” in the House, if it passed the Senate.
As overachieving students, I know that many of us will graduate with an expectation to achieve the best in all areas of our lives. However, this understanding that we have of success and productivity is negative in that it has become a commanding authority in our daily lives.
We all remember the infamous Edward Joseph Snowden: National Security Agency contractor, Rubik’s Cube holder, and the person responsible for leaking the highly classified online surveillance program PRISM in 2013, which revealed that the NSA was spying on American citizens through SMS messages, tracking phone calls, contact information and a slew of other personal records.
