Second Amendment does not protect individual gun ownership

Recently, I came upon a 1939 Supreme Court case which gave the definitive (and seldom-quoted) interpretation of the Second Amendment that makes gun control absolutely constitutional. The Second Amendment is worded as follows: "a well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed."
