To The Editor:

I'd like to respond to the article on the front page of the Thursday's Daily, ("TTLGBC alumni group endows annual scholarship at ceremony," 2/3) There seems to be a vast misunderstanding about TTLGBC (Tufts Transgendered Lesbian Gay Bisexual Collective). TTLGBC is a group on campus where students get together to discuss LGBT (Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgendered) issues. TTLGBC is NOT the entire LGBT community at Tufts. Nor is everyone in TTLGBC part of the LGBT community (yes, there are straight people in it!) In fact, in the last couple of years the "C" in TTLGBC was changed from "Community" to "Collective" to emphasize that it is merely a collective of students who gather together, not the entire LGBT community at Tufts. Assuming that TTLGBC represents the entire LGBT community at Tufts is the same as saying that the PAA (Pan-African Alliance) represents the entire black community at Tufts.
