Vivisection: an 'inhumane' practice

The issue of animal research has become publicly visible lately due to increased media coverage on animal-related issues. The recent rash of extremist threats against Harvard animal experimenters has caused a ripple of fear regarding the lengths to which activists will go to draw public attention to their cause. Though I, like most other animal activists, do not condone any use of violence, I do sympathize with the motivations behind these extremist actions. Making the public aware of an issue that is so frequently covered up is a daunting task. Here I will use a legal and effective method to convey the same point: our school newspaper. The issue I will address is the controversial and rarely discussed topic of vivisection.
