On-campus preview | 'Tooth' bites into sex, drugs and musical theater

Only dim lights and a single black throne outfit the stage of Balch Arena Theatre. "The Tooth of Crime," however, is anything but stark. Written by Sam Shepard in the 1970s, the play successfully recreates the image of the rock 'n' roll era, complete with leather jackets, classic cars, switchblades, injected drugs and period slang.

A case for faith

Last Thursday, Xavier Malina wrote an op-ed entitled "Not a belief system, but a reason-based alternative to religion." It was a response to an earlier op-ed, entitled "A case for God," which was about atheism. In his piece, Malina defended his opinion on the subject - an entirely legitimate thing to do - by refuting the claim that atheism was a type of belief system.

A vote for war?

On Oct. 11, 2002, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-NY) cast her vote in favor of the Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Iraq Resolution, better known now as the Iraq War Resolution. She did so along with 28 other Democrats and 49 Republicans.
